How The Bowling Industry Starts?

An New Windsor, its reported that Ron Reuter is no relation to the news service of the same name, but when it comes to bowling, he always seems to have the latest breaking developments.

Well, at least he always seems to know what's cookin' at his place of business, Bowling Time Lanes, located on Route 9W. And according to Reuter, what's cooking at 'his house' is enough to satisfy everyone from the gutter-ball gourmet on up.

Tomorrow, the Tri-State Meet will be held at Bowling Time. In this special event, representatives from thirty colleges will be competing. The host team will be West Point, starting at 1 p.m.

The Classic Tournament will be held at Bowling Time Lanes on Feb. 4, and it promises to be a lot of fun. The winner of this open tourney will win $500. But take note, participation is limited to 84 bowlers. Opening roll will be at high noon, so don't dawdle.

Frank Sinatra once sang that New York, New York, made him feel like "King of the Hill." But "01' Blue Eyes" would be singing about New Windsor, New York, making him feel like King of the Hill if he ever participated in the "King of the Hill" competition at Bowling Time. Reuter and company have done it again, giving Newburgh area ball rollers something different.

There are two divisions in King of the Hill competition: the handicap and the scratch division, and they congregate on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.

Parents who bring kids 4-7 years-old can enroll the future Mark Roths into a bumper league, which goes into action at 10 a.m., on Saturday mornings.

Then, there's Rent-A-Lane. For only $18 the bowler receives two hours of uninterrupted bowling, bowling shoe rental — featuring comfortable footware in all conven-tional sizes — pizza that'll make you swear you were back in old Rome, and a pitcher of soda. Not bad!
And unlike rent-a-cars, with Rent-A-Lane there is no mileage charge. Rent-A-Lane is available from 3-7 p.m., on Saturdays.

The new year has been a lot of fun at Bowling Time, according to Reuter. He pointed out the top male bowler so far being Jeff Howell from the Classic League. Howe rolled a 300 game in December, and can boast of an 800 series that he achieved two years ago.

The women are led by Mary Taylor, who has the best series record of the year so far at 673. Serious women bowlers who want to improve their game should definitely watch her more often. The high game of the year so far

belongs to Tone Howell, who rolled a 266 masterpiece recently. In junior bowling, 17 year-old Robbie Volz leads the pack with a 254 game, and a 681 series.

Tammie Preyer keeps knocking down the pins and knocking out the spectators. She leads the female junior bowlers in 1990 action with a 223 game and a 516 series.

Reuter himself, bowling for Thej Leprechaun Lounge, didn't mention how he's been faring on the lane.

"We won't talk about me," he s "My team is ready to trade me!" Will Leprechaun Lounge trade Reuter? Stop by Bowling Time Lane Route 9W for the 1 developments!
